The 草莓社区鈥 Productivity and Development Center through the Government Quality Management Program (GQMP) will grant 13 agencies the following technical assistance: establishment of a Quality Management System certifiable to ISO 9001 standard; consolidation of multiple management systems; and enhancement of quality management system (QMS) implementation; and effecting service quality improvement through relevant approaches such as 5S quality workplace, development of standards, co-creation innovation, and process streamlining.

The selected agencies for the establishment of QMS include the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, Department of Agriculture, National Council for Children鈥檚 Television, Film Development Council of the Philippines, National Book Development Board, Anti-Red Tape Authority, Marikina Polytechnic College, Sulu State College and the Southern Philippines Development Authority.

Meanwhile, the National Library of the Philippines and the National Research Council of the Philippines will be assisted on the enhancement of their QMS implementation through Risk Management based on the ISO 31000 guidelines, while the Insurance Commission will be assisted on Service Quality Improvement and the Department of Education will be guided on the consolidation/integration of its multiple certifications.聽 These agencies were deliberated and selected by a technical working group from the Department of Budget and Management, Civil Service Commission, Department of the Interior and Local Government and the DAP.

The DAP, being the forerunner for advocating the government-wide adoption of ISO 9001 QMS, will conduct a management briefing for the 2022 GQMP beneficiary agencies (BAs), on February 11, 2022, from 01:00 PM to 05:00 PM via the Zoom meeting platform. Following the briefing, a Ceremonial Commitment Signing will highlight the program to secure the BAs鈥 commitment to complete the project and pursue their respective certifications.

Applications are still open for beneficiary agencies who wish to avail the following technical assistance: (1) enhancement of established QMS to quickly respond and deliver genuine public service especially in times of crisis; (2) integration of their QMS, to ensure a more holistic and efficient approach to public service continuity planning and risk planning; and, (3) Service Quality Improvement technical assistance to enhance public service delivery through the implementation of productivity and quality improvement inventions.
